       Many of you may know or have heard of Ralph Meaney. Ralph started racing 356 Porsches in competition in the late fifties with success. He soon gained a reputation for

repairing and modifying Porsches for racing in the NE. He open up a formal shop in Sherborn Mass Meaney Inc in the late 60s.

Ralph soon solidified his racing history in 1970 at the Daytona-24hr race in a 1965 911 placing 1st in class and winning best Porsche. Ralph later campaigned the first 914-6 cars in the US for competition. He placed eighth overall and second in class beating many factory cars and drivers.

     Ralph Meaney purchased this 1974 Carrera 41 years ago as a new 911. Ralph is now approaching 80 and has decided to sell his race car. I am helping Ralph with the sale so the information I am presenting is from him.

In February 1974 Ralph purchased vin 9114400096 911 Carrera from Porsche importer Berkshire.

Meaney Racing prepared the car for competition. The car was striped to a bear shell body welded for reinforcement and painted in the original brown color. Engine, transmission and suspension was modified to racing standards for TransAm- SCCA of the day. Originally raced twin plug 2.8 then in later years was raced as a 3.0.

     The car was raced on the east cost Virginia, New England, and New Jersey. When Meaney Moved his shop from Sherborn Mass to Seattle. The car was raced on the west coast in endurance TransAm/ SCCA series Washington and Oregon.
